My new job.

After 3 years with the Coffee HQ group, I’ve taken on the role of Victorian Barista Trainer for Michel’s Espresso.I’ve just had a week’s training with the team in Sydney (thanks for looking after me Rachel), and got to taste some interesting coffees with Instaurator.I’ll miss the FB80 at Headquarters, but I’m looking forward to training the Michel’s Baristas, and building on the good work Zoe did before me.

  1. I worked in a Michels Franchise for 2 years and managed to grab my level one. The lady who was running my level 2 said that I didn’t really need to do the level 2 or three and could have passed quite easy. The bummer is I suddenly moved interstate before I could complete it!

Anyway what I’m trying to say is that people laugh at you when they ask where you have come from and I reply “Michels Patisserie”. It bugs me that we Michels baristas have become a joke. although to be honest i have drunk a lot of crap coffees from michels.

Anyway nice blog, I enjoy readying it. 🙂

  2. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had bad coffee experiences at Michel’s.
It’s also funny that people knock Michel’s. Given that Instaurator, Paul Basset, Emily Oak and a host of other world class Espresso experts, Baristas and trainers have been, and are involved with the company. I think they have a great culture for developing Baristas, better than many “Specialty” cafes.

I’m glad you like the blog 🙂
    Where are you working now?
